This Privacy Policy explains how UNIFREELANCER INC, doing business as UniFreelancer (“UniFreelancer,” “we,” “us”), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, applications, and services (the “Platform”). By using the Platform, you agree to this Policy and to our Terms of Service.

We collect information you provide, information generated as you use the Platform, and information from third parties.

• Account & profile. Name, email (including university email for verification), password, account type, photo, headline, bio, skills, languages, education and affiliation details, and portfolio links.
• Verification. Signals used to confirm a university affiliation, such as control of a university-issued email address.
• Listings & activity. Services, job posts, proposals, orders, reviews, messages, and Academy activity such as course progress and submissions.
• Payments. Transactions are handled by our payment processor. We receive limited details (such as amounts, status, and the last digits of a card) but do not store full payment-card numbers ourselves.
• Communications. Messages you send through the Platform and to our support team.
• Device & usage. IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring pages, and interactions, collected automatically via cookies and similar technologies.
• Third-party sign-in. If you sign in with a provider (for example, Google), we receive basic profile information that provider shares.

We use information to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Platform and its features;
• Create and secure accounts, and verify university affiliation;
• Facilitate listings, proposals, orders, messaging, and payments between users;
• Provide the Academy and track course progress and completion;
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security, and legal issues;
• Communicate with you about your account, transactions, updates, and support;
• Send marketing where permitted (you can opt out at any time); and
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it in these ways:

• With other users. Your public profile, listings, ratings, and content you post are visible to others. Information you exchange in an engagement is shared with the user you transact with.
• With service providers. Vendors who host, process payments, send email, provide analytics, or otherwise help us run the Platform, under contracts limiting their use of the information.
• For legal reasons. To comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, safety, and property of UniFreelancer, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
• With your consent. When you direct us to share information.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure the Platform, and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality. Where required, we honor applicable browser-based opt-out signals.

You can review and update most profile information in your account settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, or to object to or limit certain processing.

• Access & correction. Update your details in settings or contact us for help.
• Deletion. Request deletion of your account and associated personal information, subject to records we must retain by law or for legitimate business needs.
• Marketing opt-out. Use the unsubscribe link in our emails or adjust your preferences.

To exercise a right, email support@unifreelancer.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, then for as long as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including options such as two-factor authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Protect your account by using a strong, unique password and keeping your credentials confidential.

The Platform is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

The Platform links to and integrates third-party services, such as payment processors, video hosting, and sign-in providers. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. We are not responsible for third-party practices.

We operate in the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the U.S., you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. and other countries with different data-protection laws than your own.

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Effective” date and may provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
